Overnight in the Rub Al Khali desert

The tour starts at 08:00 am from your hotel or in Salalah City by riding over the Qoura Mountains. After a short break in Thumrait city which was famous as a Bedouin settlement, continue westwards in vast gravel desert of 'Al Nejd'. Experience the Lost City "Ubar" an old place that was discovered by archaeologists 1992nd It is believed that the city of 2800 was inhabited by Christ BC to about 300, and have been an important commercial center of incense at the time before it was buried in the rising dunes. There is a small museum showing the archaeological discoveries.

The dry desert of Rub al Khali or also called 'Empty Quarter' extends from the foothills of the mountains to an enormous sand plain that covers much of the area. The region is known for oil and archaeological sites. To start a thrilling ride through the spectacular Al Hasman (Fasad) sand dunes that rise more than 200 meters in height, for a unique experience in the dunes with their changing colors.
